2023 Fantasy Outlook

After walking 5.6 batters per nine innings across five minor-league seasons, Jackson's 16.3% walk rate as a rookie was no surprise. In fact, it was the worst walk percentage among relievers who pitched at least 40 innings. However, the 28-year-old still managed to put together a solid campaign, compiling a 3.00 ERA (2.77 FIP), 1.27 WHIP and 67 strikeouts across 48 innings. He only gave up one home run all season (0.2 HR/9) and was effective against both right-handed (.188 BA) and lefty swingers (.143). Jackson quickly earned a high-leverage role for the A's, finishing finishing 2nd in the American League and 4th overall with 26 holds.
