Lopez saw just 10 plate appearances in the majors in 2023 as an oblique strain forced him onto the 60-day injured list in July, with the majority of his playing time coming across 346 plate appearances at Triple-A Buffalo. Lopez slashed .258/.313/.343 in Triple-A before the injury shortened his season. Capable of playing both middle infield roles as well as across the outfield, Lopez's path to major league playing time is pretty muddy.
