2026 Fantasy Outlook

With A.J. Puk (elbow) and Justin Martinez (elbow) set to miss most - if not all - of the 2026 season, Ginkel (shoulder) stands as the Arizona's most experienced option for closing duties. Of course, the 31-year-old would first need to prove he has recovered from the right shoulder sprain that ended his 2025 campaign prematurely. Assuming he's healthy by the end of spring training, Ginkel makes sense to take on the bulk of save chances during the first half of 2026. He has 16 career saves and was in the mix for the closer role before he got hurt last year. He's also set to for free-agency in 2027 and could become a trade candidate if the D'Backs don't perform to expectations. Not only does Ginkel need to rebound health-wise, he'll need to improve his performance after stumbling to a 7.36 ERA and 1.62 WHIP over 25.2 innings last year. Read Past Outlooks
