After four consecutive seasons as the Astros closer, Pressly was relegated to setup duties after Houston signed Josh Hader last winter. The veteran right-hander recorded 25 holds (12th in the league), but the signs of decline that were evident in 2023 carried over to last season. Nagging back issues may have been to blame, but Pressly's strikeout and walk rates and four-seam fastball velocity continue to trend in the wrong direction. While it's difficult to get excited about the veteran's prospects moving forward, Pressly's $14 million option for 2025 vested when he made his 45th appearance last year.
