Wright spent the entire 2024 campaign rehabbing from surgery to repair a torn capsule in his right shoulder, but he's expected to be ready for Opening Day in 2025. The right-hander broke out with Atlanta in 2022 with a 3.19 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 174:53 K:BB over 180.1 innings, but he made just nine appearances in 2023 before the shoulder issue first surfaced. Wright has seen action in parts of six MLB seasons, but 2022 was the only season in which he was effective and received consistent starts. He should have a chance to earn a spot in Kansas City's starting rotation during spring training, but there's no guarantee he comes close to recapturing that dominant version of himself in 2025. Wright's performance during camp could be a strong indicator of what to expect after the prolonged layoff. Read Past Outlooks
