Facing a rebuilding year, the Cardinals committed to Liberatore as a member of their 2025 rotation after the southpaw had spent most of the previous season in the bullpen. Liberatore came out of the gate firing, putting up a 3.08 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 56:9 K:BB over 64.1 innings through the end of May. He went through a midseason lull with a 5.51 ERA over his next 14 starts before finishing strong with a 3.54 ERA and 20:6 K:BB across 20.1 frames in September. Not much stood out for Liberatore when you take a step back and look at his entire season, but he showed enough at the beginning and end of the year that there's hope for more consistency in 2026 now that he's got a full year in a major-league rotation under his belt.
