Gaddis was a pleasant surprise for the Guardians during his first full season in the majors. After making seven spot-starts for Cleveland in 2023, the 26-year-old righty transitioned to a relief role and altered his pitch mix, ditching his curveball and cutter entirely while throwing more sliders (45 percent pitch usage). Gaddis also gained velocity - adding two miles per hour on his fastball and nearly four miles per hour on his slider. This yielded much better results, as Gaddis finished 5th among qualified relievers with a 1.57 ERA and tied for 6th with a 0.76 WHIP.
