Crochet missed all of 2022 while rehabbing from Tommy John surgery. The White Sox hope he'll return by mid-season. Before the surgery, the plan was for Crochet to follow Michael Kopech's example and begin the season as a multi-inning reliever before joining the rotation. The White Sox still envision Crochet as a starter, but there are no plans to work in that capacity in 2023. The hope is he builds up ample innings to make the full transition in the off-season. Still just 23-years-old, there is plenty of time for Crochet to make it as a starter, but with his arsenal, high-leverage relief work is a solid fallback. It's risky to trust Crochet in redraft leagues, but he could be a target to stash in keeper formats. Read Past Outlooks
