Spiers split time between the minors and majors in 2024, making 18 starts and an additional 13 appearances as a reliever. The right-hander excelled at Triple-A Louisville, where he was used as a starter, posting a 2.51 ERA while lowering walk and home run rates. His results in the majors, however, were less glamorous either as a starter or reliever. As a starter, MLB hitters crushed 16 homers off him in just 51.2 innings. The numbers were slightly better coming out of the bullpen, but those appearances were primarily as an inning-eater in low-leverage situations. He's likely to begin 2025 in the rotation at Louisville, as he did last season, and provide starting depth for the Reds. Read Past Outlooks
