2025 Fantasy Outlook
Susana, a 6-foot-6, 235-pound righty Washington acquired from San Diego as part of the return for Juan Soto, broke out in 2024 and started showing more signs that he might be able to make it as a starting pitcher. The beefy fireballer logged a 2.40 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 27 strikeouts in 15 innings over his final three starts for High-A Wilmington. Susana had a pair of 10-strikeout performances to put a bow on his age-20 campaign. His fielding-independent stats paint a better picture (FIP and xFIP below 3.00 at Single-A and High-A) than his 4.34 ERA and 1.31 WHIP in 103.2 innings across the two levels. Susana's 35.4 percent strikeout rate ranked fourth in the minors among pitchers who threw 100-plus innings this season. He sits at 99-100 mph with his fastball and touches 103 mph, so if he were to make it to the majors as a starter, he'd live at the top of velocity leaderboards. His upper-80s slider is his go-to bat-misser and an easy plus pitch, while his changeup is a useable third offering. There's inherent risk with any pitcher who throws this hard, but Susana's peak could be special, even if it isn't long-lived. Read Past Outlooks
