The left-hander joined the Brewers on a minor-league deal in November of 2023 and was a breakout piece of the bullpen, and he also made a few starts as an opener. Koenig had a 9-4 record in 55 appearances with a 2.47 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 63:23 K:BB across 62 innings, and he tallied one save and 10 holds. He averaged 95.1 mph on his fastball, which is up nearly six mph from his first big-league action with Oakland in 2022.
