Edgardo Henriquez

22-Year-Old PitcherRP
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Michael Kopech has one more year of team control and is the odds-on favorite to be the primary closer for the defending World Champs in 2025. That said, do not sleep on the long-term future of Henriquez. Henriquez was originally drafted as a catcher by the club and converted to full-time pitching after 2020. He lost the 2023 season due to recovery from Tommy John surgery, but came back in 2024 to pitch at four levels in the organization where he struck out 88 batters in 53 innings of work while allowing 36 hits. He regularly pushes triple digits with his fastball and complements it with cutters and breaking pitches until he settles on one. He struck out 38.9 percent of the batters he faced last season and has struck out 31.0 percent of the batters over his minor league career. That work earned him a very late promotion to the big leagues and is likely going to win him a job in the ever-fluid Dodgers bullpen in 2025. The area to watch would be his walks, as he did have a 12.8 percent walk rate in his first season back after surgery, which ideally would come down to a single-digit percentage to get him into the best leverage situations.
