Iriarte did not cover himself in glory in his first year with the White Sox after getting dealt from San Diego as part of the return for Dylan Cease. He was fortunate to log a 3.71 ERA as a starter at Double-A and a 1.50 ERA in six innings out of the big-league bullpen, but his 12.2 K-BB% and 17 hit batsmen in 126 innings at Double-A and his -6.7 K-BB% in MLB tell a much different story. There were significant questions about Iriarte's ability to make it as a starter at the time of the trade, and it now seems more likely than not that he'll end up a reliever. Iriarte has never pitched at Triple-A, so he'll likely either make the big club as a reliever or stay stretched out at Triple-A. If his command were to improve, he has the stuff (three above-average pitches) to find success in the rotation. Read Past Outlooks
