Going after Mariners pitching prospects has its merits, given their stellar developmental track record and spacious home park, and Garcia is arguably Seattle's most relevant pitching prospect for 2025. The 6-foot-4 southpaw logged a 2.83 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 49:21 K:BB in 47.2 innings across 13 starts for Double-A Arkansas in 2024. Garcia has a plus fastball and a plus slider, but his changeup is a distant third pitch and his command is iffy, as he walked 10.1 percent of batters at Double-A as a 24-year-old. Garcia was lights out earlier in the year against younger hitters at High-A, logging a 1.84 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, 85 strikeouts and a 59.5 percent groundball rate in 68.1 innings. It would help for Garcia to improve his third pitch and/or his strike throwing, but his handedness and top two pitches might be enough for him to make it as a starter as is. Read Past Outlooks
