Iglesias was unable to parlay his impressive .337 batting average with the Mets in 2024 into an impactful season with San Diego, as he slashed just .229/.298/.294 with three homers, 36 RBI and five stolen bases over 343 plate appearances for the Padres. Though he was unimpressive with the bat, Iglesias did give San Diego useful positional versatility, logging over 20 games at second base, shortstop and third base. That versatility -- and a positive clubhouse presence -- is most of what Iglesias brings to the table at this point in his career, with his penchant for making contact (his strikeout rate has been below 17% every year since 2013) being his most valuable trait as a hitter. Regardless of where Iglesias ends up for his 14th big-league season, there's going to be almost zero fantasy interest in a player who hasn't hit double-digit homers since 2019 or logged double-digit steals since 2018.
