Garver became a free agent after Seattle declined the $12M mutual option on his contract in early November. Garver hada terrible two-year run in Seattle after a succcesful rebound with the 2023 World Champions in Texas. 2019 is never happening again for Garver, and his days at catching are likely over as well as he is below average across the board behind the plate. There is a narrow path to success should Garver find a place where he could serve as a DH and just focus on hitting to see whether he can once again try to challenge 20 homers in a friendly environment. On paper, this situation has, "The Colorado Rockies have signed.." all over it and quite honestly, that is what it would take to put Garver back on mono-league radars for draftability. As it stands now, it is tough to think of him as anything other than end round fodder on a 50-man roster. Read Past Outlooks
