After joining the Padres organization in mid-May, Peralta worked almost exclusively in a platoon role, as all but 26 of his 260 plate appearances came against right-handed pitchers. The veteran gave the Padres a steady bat when called upon, as he finished the campaign with a .267/.335/.415 slash line, eight home runs, 28 RBI, 35 runs and two stolen bases while making occasional starts in the outfield and at DH. Peralta proved last season that he can still be a useful contributor to a contending team as a left-handed bat with a bit of pop and above-average contact skills, but as a platoon player in the late stage of his career, he's no longer a viable option in all but the deepest of fantasy leagues.
