Zavala lost his spot on the White Sox's Opening Day roster to begin 2022, but he rejoined the big club in June and appeared in a career-high 61 games. He had a .270/.347/.382 slash line with a 31.2 percent strikeout rate, and he saw some run as Chicago's primary backstop while Yasmani Grandal battled injuries. The strikeout rate has been an issue while Zavala came up through the minors, but it's his defensive ability that's his main draw.
