Ramirez burst onto the scene in 2025 with four doubles and three home runs in his first five career games, and 12 extra-base hits in his first 15 games. Traded from New York to Miami in the 2024 Jazz Chisholm deal, Ramirez ultimately totaled 55 extra-base hits as a rookie, tying Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez for the most in team history for a catcher. He also surprised many by stealing 16 bags, most among catchers last season. While he may not be a burner, ranking in the bottom third of the league in sprint speed, the stolen-base element is one he previously displayed in the minors (22 steals in 24 attempts between Double-A and Triple-A in 2024). Ramirez remained efficient on the basepaths in his first major-league season, only getting caught three times in 19 attempts. If his poor defensive grades are any indication, Ramirez won't be playing catcher much longer, but for the time being, he offers rare production at the position. The numbers get a scarcity bump in two-catcher leagues. Read Past Outlooks
