Collins was surprisingly in the running for NL Rookie of the Year as he posted an .805 OPS while providing strong defense through his first 112 games, but his play, both offensively and defensively, fell off during the final month of the season. He still finished the regular season with a .779 OPS but saw limited playing time down the stretch and filled a bench role during the playoffs. The Brewers apparently were content with their outfield alignment during that stretch, as the club traded him to the Royals in December. He will likely compete for playing time in left field with Lane Thomas, who signed with Kansas City shortly after the trade. Collins totaled nine home runs, 16 steals, 54 RBI and 56 runs in 130 games as a rookie, and that modest run production combined with a .247 xBA and .349 xSLG doesn't paint a great picture of his upside for 2026.
