Guzman's 2026 path became a bit clouded when the Angels acquired Vaughn Grissom during the Winter Meetings. Guzman had an espresso shot of major league time last year and struck out in 22 of his 43 plate appearances, which likely accelerated the club's plans to find a shortstop who was more big-league ready. Guzman turns 22 in February and has accelerated through the system as most Angels prospects do, and has not surprisingly struggled to make consistent contact at every level. He has a 10.1% walk rate as a minor league, but that also comes with a 25.3% strikeout rate which has worsened as he has been rushed up the organziational ladder. Simply put, he needs a lot more seasoning but the Angels are likely going to throw him into the fire this season, so just look at 2025 Christian Moore's stats and decide whether you want those on your roster.
