2026 Fantasy Outlook
De Paula hasn't taken the big leap yet on either side of the ball, but he remains a high-upside power-hitting prospect. The lefty hitter, who turns 21 in May, slashed .250/.391/.400 with 12 home runs, 32 steals, an 18.4 percent walk rate and a 20.4 percent strikeout rate in 102 games, 98 of which came at High-A. Despite his high stolen base totals over the years, the main long-term attraction with De Paula is his bat. A very patient hitter who makes plenty of contact, De Paula's raw power hasn't shown up consistently in games yet, but evaluators envision a potentially plus hitter with plus power during his prime. There are reports that he can be passable in an outfield corner, but on a team with World Series aspirations, defenders of this caliber are ideally relegated to DH duty. That won't happen in L.A. with Shoehei Ohtani around, but perhaps De Paula could be Freddie Freeman's long-term replacement at first base. The lefty-hitting De Paula had reverse splits last year and has the offensive upside to be a true everyday player in his prime. Read Past Outlooks
