Caleb Bonemer

20-Year-Old ShortstopSS
Chicago White Sox A+
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Bonemer still seems to be underrated after an excellent pro debut in 2025. A shortstop who is not a lock to stick there long term, Bonemer opened his age-19 season at Single-A and slashed .281/.400/.458 with 10 home runs, 27 steals, a 15.7 percent walk rate and a 21.1 percent strikeout rate in 96 games before getting a late-season promotion to High-A. He slugged .611 with two homers, a triple and four doubles in 11 games at High-A while chipping in two steals. A very patient hitter (38.8 Swing%), Bonemer kept his swinging-strike rate below 10 percent at both stops. He could end up with a plus hit tool, and Bonemer will almost certainly be a positive OBP contributor. A teenage shortstop prospect with those hitting chops managing a .192 ISO in their full-season debut is an exciting development, portending at least above-average power long term. Bonemer had a 78.4 percent success rate on the bases, but he isn't a plus runner and could potentially slow down in the coming years. Even so, he should still be expected to steal 15-20 bases in the majors due to his high OBP and desire to run. He showed a high floor at Single-A and flashed a high ceiling at High-A. More of the same at Double-A could result in Bonemer finishing the year as a top-15 prospect. Read Past Outlooks
