2025 Fantasy Outlook
Uribe opened 2024 as the Brewers' closer with Devin Williams on the injured list, but lost the role in mid-April due to his inability to find the strike zone (43 percent ball percentage). A few weeks later, the 24-year-old was demoted to the minors, where he was limited to seven appearances with Triple-A Nashville before undergoing season-ending knee surgery. With Uribe expected to be 100 percent healthy for the start of spring training, he's once again a candidate to receive save chances for Milwaukee in 2025. His primary appeal for the ninth-inning role is his velocity, as he's able to hit triple-digits on the radar gun. However, Uribe has a 16.6 percent walk rate in 45 career innings in the majors, which likely puts him behind Trevor Megill and Joel Payamps on the Brewers' hierarchy for saves. Nevertheless, the flamethrowing righty has the stuff to be a high-leverage reliever if he can throw enough strikes. Read Past Outlooks

Strikes out side for rare save
Uribe picked up the save in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Orioles after striking out the side in the ninth inning.
ANALYSIS
Closer Trevor Megill and setup man Nick Mears had both worked the prior two days, paving the way for Uribe to receive his first save opportunity of the year. Uribe hasn't given up a run in any of his last 13 appearances, and he boasts a 1.19 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 32:10 K:BB over 22.2 innings this season. The 24-year-old right-hander is unlikely to see save chances when most of Milwaukee's high-leverage arms are available, but Uribe is tied for the National League lead with 12 holds.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Uribe continued to light up the radar gun, striking out 41 over 23 innings between Double-A and Triple-A before he was summoned for his big league debut last July. It didn't take very long for the 23-year-old rookie to earn high-leverage opportunities, as he was effective with his 3-pitch arsenal. Uribe threw his sinker 61.2% of the time at an average velocity of 99.4 mph with a .179 BA, but it was his slider (32.2% usage) that was truly devastating to opposing hitters (.080 BA, 58.4% whiff rate). He also threw an occasional fastball that registered triple-digits. All in all, Uribe's .151 batting average against was 4th-best among relievers with 30-plus innings. On the flip side, his 15.8% walk rate was 4th-worst. Uribe should be a mainstay in the late innings for Milwaukee for years to come, but improving his control will go a long way towards reaching his potential as a future closer in the league.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Nearing return to majors?
According to Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Uribe could soon be recalled from Triple-A Nashville by the Brewers.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old was optioned at the start of May after a string of rough performances, which included his involvement in a benches-clearing brawl that resulted in a six-game suspension. Uribe appealed the ban but was demoted before a resolution was reached. The right-hander will need to serve what remains of the suspension once back on the MLB roster, so the Brewers will have to factor that in if and when they decide to promote him. Uribe posted a 6.91 ERA and 14:12 K:BB across 14.1 innings for Milwaukee prior to being sent down, but he's subsequently generated five scoreless outings for Nashville.
