2021 Fantasy Outlook
Cederlind came to the majors in 2020 throwing heat, but in the form of Pittsburgh's desired sinker. The Pirates still love the sinker for their pitchers more than anything else, and Cederlind appeased the bosses by throwing the pitch 60-70% of the time. He threw a cutter at the big-league level along with the sinker, but earlier scouting reports labeled the pitch as a slider. He threw at least an average changeup in the minors, but did not use it in his brief appearance in the majors in 2020. The righty has been groomed as a reliever throughout his minor-league career, so the changeup may be gone for good as the club looks primed to utilize him in middle relief to quell rallies with groundball double plays. It is a weird fit for a pitcher with natural velocity. There is opportunity for advancement in this bullpen.
