2025 Fantasy Outlook
Quantrill got a one-year, $3.5 million deal to be the Marlins' No. 5 starter in 2025. He will be getting a massive home park upgrade in Miami after spending 2024 with the Rockies, but that's about all that can be said positively about Quantrill's fantasy prospects. Among pitchers who threw 140-plus innings last year, Quantrill's 16.8 percent strikeout rate was the fourth-worst mark, ahead of only Bailey Falter, Austin Gomber and Marcus Stroman. Wins will be very hard to come by pitching for the lowly Marlins as a pitch-to-contact pitcher, so essentially we're talking about a zero-category starting pitcher who is employed by a big-league team to just eat innings. Dealt with hamstring cramp Tuesday
Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said that Quantrill dealt with a cramp in his left hamstring during Tuesday's start against the Phillies, Isaac Azout of FishOnFirst.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Quantrill was seen grabbing at his hamstring after the Marlins recorded the final out in the top of the fourth inning. He came back out for the fifth but was pulled after hitting a batter and giving up a double. Quantrill had thrown only 74 pitches and allowed just one run to that point, although he was charged with an additional two runs after exiting. It's not clear how much the right-hander's cramping factored into McCullough's decision to remove the hurler, but the manager expects Quantrill to be ready to go for his next scheduled outing Tuesday in San Francisco.

Quantrill's run of success came to a screeching halt last season, as he made a pair of trips to the injured list with shoulder trouble and struggled to an ERA north of 6.00 in his final 12 starts. While it was obvious that the right-hander had been pitching over his skis since coming over from San Diego, it was still somewhat surprising to see his performance crater like it did. The injury almost certainly played a part, but regardless the Guardians designated Quantrill for assignment after the season, later sending him to the Rockies via trade. Quantrill has always been subject to the whims of variance given his low strikeout rate (career 17.7 K%), and adding Coors Field to the mix makes him a highly combustible element. Colorado is hoping he can provide stability in the middle of the rotation, but it will be tough in that division.

ANALYSIS
