Cayden Wallace

21-Year-Old Third Baseman3B
Kansas City Royals A+
2023 Fantasy Outlook
Wallace, a third baseman from Arkansas with a monster arm, was selected by the Royals in the second round and given an over-slot $1.7 million bonus. As an amateur hitter, Wallace was seen as an above-average power threat with a questionable hit tool, but in his brief debut, the right-handed hitter demonstrated excellent zone-contact ability and plus raw power in the lower levels. He should spend the year at High-A and Double-A, where he will look to pick up where he left off offensively. As things stand, Wallace comfortably projects as Kansas City's third baseman of the future. Read Past Outlooks

The Royals have selected Wallace with the 49th overall pick in the 2022 first-year player draft.
ANALYSIS
A 20-year-old third baseman from Arkansas, Wallace has a monster arm on the infield and above-average raw power. His exit velocities are impressive, but he can struggle with pitch recognition. The development of his hit tool will be what determines whether he makes it as an everyday third baseman.
