2025 Fantasy Outlook
Myers embraced the friendly environment in Erie in 2022 to put up a 20-20 season for Detroit's Double-A team. He moved onto Miami's organization and once again stole 20 bases and hit 15 homer between Double-A and Triple-A, but 2024 ended that progress. Myers hit six homers and stole eight bases in 230 plate appearances between the two levels and struck out more than three times as often as he walked. That kind of ratio would be tolerable for someone supplying home runs, but Myers is not finding the fence at the upper levels of baseball frequently enough to strike out this much. Myers has shown value on the short side of a platoon and with his defensive tools, highlighted by a strong throwing arm. That skill set will likely keep Myers on the 26-man roster as Miami continues it's perpetual rebuilding plan. Myers's fantasy value, however, is much more murky. Read Past Outlooks

Launches first spring homer

Myers went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Mets.
ANALYSIS
The 29-year-old drove a Paul Blackburn offering over the fence the other way to right field in the third inning, giving Myers his first extra-base hit of the spring. Per Christina De Nicola of MLB.com, Myers has been tinkering with his swing mechanics in camp, and his new stance has begun to pay dividends -- two of his outs Monday had exit velocities above 98 mph. With Jesus Sanchez (side) set to begin the season on the IL, Myers should see regular playing time somewhere in the Miami outfield, but the team's exact alignment remains murky heading toward Opening Day.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
When not chasing after the heart of Beth Truss while daring to ski the K12...wait, we're being told in the earpiece that this outlook is for Dane Myers and not Lane Meyer. Dane will be 28 before the season starts and has fewer than 100 plate appearances in a big league uniform with an unusual minor league career. He has always been old for his level, including in 2022 when he had a 20-20 season for Detroit's Double-A franchise at the age of 26. Myers was picked up by Miami in the Triple-A phase of the Rule V draft and made some swing adjustments to cut down on his strikeouts and finished with 15 homers and 20 steals between Double-A and Triple-A before a late callup. At age 28, it is now or never for Myers and he absolutely has a chance to pick up a reserve outfield spot off the bench with a great camp. He can safely be put in wait and see mode in NL-Only leagues for now.
