2021 Fantasy Outlook
Calabrese, whom the Angels drafted with the No. 82 overall pick last year, was one of the youngest players in his class, as he didn't turn 18 until September. He hails from Canada and is also one of the fastest players in the class, projecting as at least a 70-grade runner. Calabrese (5-foot-10, 160 pounds) is a high-energy player who could develop into an above-average hitter. While his power is questioned by some just due to his physique, he is not a slap hitter and has above-average bat speed with a steep bat plane that allows him to barrel balls. He also hits from the left side, which is another mark in his favor. Given his speed, he should have no trouble providing defensive value in center field. In many ways, Calabrese is reminiscent of Corbin Carroll, a top-20 overall prospect in the Diamondbacks organization. The main difference is Carroll's hit tool was more of a sure thing as an amateur.
