2023 Projections
2023 Fantasy Outlook
Arroyo's dynasty value peaked last season right when the Mariners cashed him out in the Luis Castillo trade with the Reds. The switch-hitting shortstop slashed .316/.385/.514 with 13 home runs, 21 steals and a 22.0 K% in his first 87 games at Single-A - numbers that are even more impressive when considering Arroyo was the second-youngest qualified hitter at that level. However, he went on to hit .227 with one home run and a 28.4 K% in 27 games at Single-A with the Reds. His season line of .296/.368/.488 is still excellent, given his age and level, and Arroyo's 32.1 Hard% was a fantastic mark for a quick-twitch shortstop. Arroyo has the type of all-around skill set that could translate to five-category fantasy production, and it's always notable when an 18-year-old dominates at Single-A. He could re-establish himself as a top-50 dynasty prospect if he has success at High-A with his new organization. Read Past Outlooks

Scuffles after deadline deal
Arroyo hit just .227/.303/.381 with one homer and four steals over 28 games for Single-A Daytona after being dealt to the Reds at the trade deadline.
ANALYSIS
That's a far cry from the sparkling .316/.385/.514 line he put up for Modesto in the Mariners' organization. The California League is much more hitter-friendly than the Florida State League, but that doesn't fully account for the gap in Arroyo's production. He did show some flashes down the stretch, but overall, it seems like Arroyo -- who just turned 19 last month -- may have been pressing a little bit to impress his new organization. It'll be interesting to see whether the Reds decide to start him off back in Single-A next year or challenge him with a move to High-A.
