ANALYSIS
After struggling as a starter for his first two years at Florida International, Cave found his form as a reliever in the Cape Cod League last summer before transferring to Division II Tampa. The 20-year-old boasts tremendous arm strength; he sits around 97-98 mph with his fastball. Cave also tosses a pair of breaking pitches, including a powerful 86-88 mph slider and a low-80s curveball. While he possesses some serious strikeout stuff, Cave has always struggled with his control, so he seems to project more as a future closer.
