Hoy Park

27-Year-Old ShortstopSS
Atlanta Braves AAA
2023 Fantasy Outlook
Park had a .649 OPS in 60 plate appearances for the Pirates last season, and he was traded to the Red Sox in November only to later be flipped to Atlanta. He didn't have much better luck at the Triple-A level in 2022 with a .686 OPS in 89 contests. The potential departure of Dansby Swanson opens up significant playing time in Atlanta's middle infield, but Park is unlikely to be a direct beneficiary, especially after he was booted from the 40-man roster in January. Park could work as a utility option but shouldn't be expected to have a regular role in the lineup, assuming he sees the majors at all. Read Past Outlooks

Park cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Park has twice been traded this offseason after being designated for assignment, but this time he passed through waivers and will remain in the Atlanta organization. The 26-year-old will represent utility depth in the minors.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
Park made his major-league debut in 2021 and appeared in 44 games for the Pirates after being acquired from the Yankees, and he hit .197/.299/.339 with three home runs and 14 RBI. It's a limited sample size, but his 12.3 percent walk rate is encouraging isn't an outlier from his minor-leagues figure. He also hit 10 homers in 48 games at the Triple-A level last season, but given his previous season-high for home runs was seven, that power is unlikely to be repeated, especially in the majors. Park could see significant action either as the primary second baseman or in a utility role given Pittsburgh's lack of middle infield options, but he's unlikely to be a viable fantasy option.
