2025 Fantasy Outlook
Chourio's older brother Jackson ascended to superstar status in the second half of last season for the Brewers, and Jaison will look to ascend to top-25 prospect status in 2025. The younger Chourio can actually match his older brother pound for pound (they both measure roughly 6-foot, 195 pounds) and tool for tool until we get to the power department, as Jaison has seven home runs in 186 career games. His 49.3 percent groundball rate in 2024 marked the first time he'd hit fewer than 50 percent of balls on the dirt, although he can hit the ball hard (110.8 mph max EV). A broken left wrist ended Chourio's season in late August. Prior to that, he'd been an on-base machine, slashing .269/.414/.398 with a 19.9 percent walk rate, 16 percent strikeout rate, five home runs and 44 steals in 98 games. Chourio is an above-average defender in center field, which combined with his plate skills, should allow him to be an everyday player in a few years. There hasn't been any sign of the switch-hitting Chourio reaching a new level as a power hitter, but he doesn't turn 20 until May, and even a modest uptick in power would allow him to profile as a potential leadoff hitter rather than a No. 8 or No. 9 hitter. Set to play in Spring Breakout game
OFCleveland Guardians  A+
March 6, 2025
Chourio (wrist) is listed on the Cleveland roster for its March 14 Spring Breakout game versus Seattle prospects, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Chourio turned in an impressive 2024 campaign at Single-A Lynchburg, slashing .273/.416/.401 with five home runs and 43 stolen bases over 435 plate appearances before fracturing his left wrist in late August. He appears to be facing no restrictions with his wrist during spring training, as Stebbins notes that the 19-year-old outfield prospect has been part of the big club's depth roster during camp.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
The 18-year-old younger brother of Brewers phenom Jackson Chourio was an outstanding table setter in the Arizona Complex League before getting promoted to Single-A at the end of the year, so his first season stateside was a big success. Chourio slashed .349/.476/.463 with one home run and 19 steals in 39 ACL games, thanks partially to an inflated .451 BABIP. Chourio's command of the strike zone and plus speed stand out as clear strengths, but his 54.1 percent groundball rate and 42.1 percent opposite-field rate against complex pitchers suggest he has a long way to go before notable game power is a reality. An athletic 6-foot-1 switch hitter, Chourio is an above-average defensive center fielder, which should buy him plenty of opportunities. If the power doesn't show up, Chourio will need to be a good enough hitter to bat leadoff, otherwise he could end up being a No. 9 hitter who is only rostered for his speed.
