Piron signed with the Rays for $1.8 million Friday, Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
A 6-foot-1, 165-pound outfielder from the Dominican Republic, Piron is a high-end athlete who should retain at least plus speed into his mid-20s. It's also easy to dream on plus power potential as he fills out his frame. Piron is one of the youngest prospects in this class and won't turn 17 until June.
