2025 Fantasy Outlook
Save for a couple of short stints in the bigs, Bride spent most of the first three months of 2024 with Triple-A Jacksonville. He was called up for good in early but played sparingly until the Marlins shipped Josh Bell to Arizona at the trade deadline. Bride then played nearly every day, jumping between first base, third base and DH. He posted a .279/.365/.485 line as a full-time player. His quality of contact was below average, but his strikeout and walk rates were better than average. Even so, he outpointed his xBA by 50 points. The departure of Jake Burger this winter opens up significant at-bats, so Bride should have a chance to see decent volume if he performs well early in 2025. Let someone else draft 2024's good fortune. In this instance, it's better to be the bridesmaid. Read Past Outlooks

Shipped to Minnesota
The Twins acquired Bride from the Marlins on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The 29-year-old was designated for assignment by Miami on Tuesday, and Minnesota elected to trade for him with Willi Castro (oblique) and Matt Wallner (hamstring) being the latest Twins players to suffer injuries. Bride went 4-for-40 with 15 strikeouts through 12 games for the Marlins this season, but he was productive in 272 plate appearances last year with 11 homers and an .818 OPS. Therefore, it's a good opportunity for the Twins to add some much-needed infield depth with upside.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Bride was unsuccessful in his time with Oakland in 2023 as seen in a .490 OPS over 106 plate appearances, but he once again impressed in the minors with a .305/.432/.544 slash while with Triple-A Las Vegas. The Marlins will see if he can translate that success at the highest level, as they acquired the 28-year-old in February after he was designated for assignment. The right-handed hitting infielder has shown an impressive approach at the plate and offers minimal swing-and-miss in his profile, but he's struggled to make hard contact, and he's unlikely to be a player that offers much -- if anything -- in the stolen-base category. Bride will get a chance to win a roster spot with Miami, but even if he's successful, his role will make it impossible to have any sort of fantasy relevance.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Not ready to return
Bride will not return from the injured list Wednesday when first eligible, reports Martin Gallegos of MLB.com.
ANALYSIS
Bride ran sprints with the team Monday before Oakland's home game but will still need more time, and possibly a rehab assignment, before returning. The rookie went on the injured list just 12 games into his big-league career after injuring his shoulder in a collision with teammate Chad Pinder on June 26. At this point, a return by this weekend seems unlikely for the infielder.
