Latest Fantasy Rumors
Has stuff to land bullpen spot?
Lopez has shown the kind of stuff to perhaps stick in a bullpen role all season long with the Padres, per MLB Pipeline.
ANALYSIS
San Diego selected Lopez away from the Rays in the Rule 5 Draft back in December, and the 24-year-old left-hander is already impressing with mid-90s heat and a sweeping slider this spring in camp. Lopez posted a 2.43 ERA with a whopping 95 strikeouts across 59.1 innings last year in Tampa Bay's minor-league system. If he doesn't find a permanent home on the Padres' major-league roster, he'll likely wind up being returned to his former organization.
