2022 Fantasy Outlook
Rojas made the Angels' Opening Day roster in 2021 but got off to a poor start, hitting below the Mendoza line through 130 plate appearances. He was subsequently demoted to the minors, where he spent much of the remainder of the season, swatting eight homers in 216 at-bats for Triple-A Salt Lake. Rojas earned two additional call-ups but didn't do much to impress outside of a three-hit game in early July. The 29-year-old has shown the ability to hit for power in the minors, posting a 31-homer campaign at the Triple-A level in 2019. However, he struggled to make contact during his first stint in the majors, as evidenced by his 27.2% strikeout rate. If there was a bright spot to his campaign, it's that 20 of his 35 big-league hits (14 doubles, six homers) went for extra bases. Rojas could be hard-pressed to find an everyday role at the major-league level, though his ability to play multiple outfield and infield positions should help him see additional time with the Angels in 2022.
