2024 Fantasy Outlook
France was called up for his major-league debut in early May and gave the Astros quite a boost in collecting a 2.75 ERA across 18 appearances (17 starts) through mid-August. A lack of swing and miss pointed to regression coming, though, and it hit hard in France's final six outings with a 7.94 ERA and 21:16 K:BB over 28.1 frames. In the minors, France fanned batters at a 29 percent rate but also walked batters at an alarming 11.1 percent rate. With the Astros, he cut the walks to a respectable 8.1 percent but saw his strikeout rate plummet to 17.4 percent. It's possible France could get those strikeouts up if he threw his changeup (.217 xwoBA) and curveball (.242 xwOBA) more, but his fastball was easily his most-used pitch and it got hammered (.421 xwOBA).
