Justyn-Henry Malloy

In the offseason deal that sent Joe Jimenez from Detroit to Atlanta, Malloy went from being the best hitter in an extremely depleted Atlanta farm system to being another bat-first position player in a mediocre Tigers system. Like his new org. mates Colt Keith and Jace Jung, it will have to be Malloy's offensive production that earns him playing time, as he is limited to left field and designated hitter. In his age-22 season, Malloy logged an excellent 32.0 Hard% while slashing .287/.406/.452 with 17 home runs in 133 games across the three highest levels of the minors. He doesn't chase often, but it would be nice if he swung at more pitches in the zone, as it's hard for extremely patient hitters to put up significant counting stats in the pitcher-friendly park in Detroit. Malloy isn't on the 40-man roster, but he could make his big-league debut this summer given the Tigers' lack of big-league talent. Read Past Outlooks
