Gorski hasn't played for Indianapolis since May 23, so his move to the 60-day IL ensures that he'll remain on the shelf through the All-Star break. Before getting shut down at Indianapolis, Gorski got the chance to make his big-league debut with the Pirates earlier this season. The 27-year-old slashed .195/.214/.390 with two home runs in 42 plate appearances for Pittsburgh before he was optioned to Triple-A on May 17.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Gorski climbed through the Pirates system in 2022, advancing from High-A Greensboro to Triple-A Indianapolis prior to the close of the campaign. That promotion was earned as he posted a 188 wRC+ across 146 plate appearances with Greensboro, though that number requires the context that Gorski was in his age-24 season. Even so, he managed a 130 wRC+ after being bumped up to Double-A Altoona - a more appropriate level for his age. Despite the breakout season, the Pirates declined to protect Gorski from the Rule 5 draft this offseason. Unselected, Gorski will now have to jump a number of other outfield prospects in the team's system, most notably Jack Suwinski, Cal Mitchell and Travis Swaggerty. Given that challenge, Gorski is a name to keep in mind for deep leagues, but he is most relevant in deep dynasty leagues entering the 2023 campaign.
