ANALYSIS
One of the most talented prep righties to come through the draft in recent years, Bitsko underwent labrum surgery in December of 2020 and had not pitched professionally until this week. If he can get on track, he could be a big riser on prospect lists this summer.

2021 Fantasy Outlook
Bitsko, who reclassified to be a part of last year's draft and was selected by the Rays with the 24th overall pick, might end up having the best fastball in the entire draft and doesn't turn 19 until June 16. Unfortunately, he may not make his pro debut until after his birthday, as he needed shoulder surgery in December. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound righty sits in the mid-90s and was already hitting 99 mph, so in a couple years his fastball could be a true 80-grade pitch. He was also experimenting with a low-90s cutter that would give him a great 1-2 to head his power arsenal. His curveball and slider both have characteristics that suggest they could each be plus pitches, so the dream of Bitsko becoming a true ace is alive on paper. However, the risk was already through the roof prior to his labrum injury, and he is so risky at this point that it would be fair to completely avoid him in first-year player drafts.
