Tekoah Roby

Roby only threw 173 innings over two and a half seasons with the Rangers due to multiple arm injuries, but he has always shown promising stuff when healthy. The Cardinals acquired Roby while he was on the injured list with a shoulder injury at the deadline as part of the return for Jordan Montgomery, and he proceeded to strike out 37 batters in 25.1 innings across Double-A and the Arizona Fall League over the rest of the year. The 6-foot-1 righty has a mid-90s fastball that he controls well and a hammer curveball that already gets plus grades from evaluators. He also throws a slider and a changeup, but those pitches still need some refinement. Roby has never pitched at Triple-A, but his repertoire and command are advanced enough that he could be an option in the big-league rotation this summer. He tallied 72 innings in 2023, so he may be capped in the 130-140 inning range this year. Read Past Outlooks
