ANALYSIS
He has a long way to go as a prospect, but with the potential for plus-plus power down the road, Garcia is one of the players in this international prospect class that dynasty-league owners need to be aware of. Garcia was ranked as the No. 10 international prospect according to Baseball America, and he would have been ranked higher if there were fewer questions about his ability to hit for average. A lightning-quick bat, muscular upper body and thick lower half allow him to offer the most raw power in the class, which gives him a leg up on some of the more polished, lower-ceiling prospects ranked ahead of him. Garcia won't offer any speed on the bases, but he could offer Nelson Cruz-esque production down the road if everything works out.

2017 Fantasy Outlook
He has a long way to go as a prospect, but with the potential for plus-plus power down the road, Garcia is one of the players from the 2016 international free agent class that dynasty league owners need to be aware of. There are questions about his ability to hit for average, and he will likely strike out quite a bit, especially early on in his professional career. However, his lightning-quick bat, muscular upper body and thick lower half allow him to offer the most raw power in the class. Garcia won't offer any speed on the bases, but he could offer Nelson Cruz-esque production down the road if everything works out. He should receive an assignment to the Dominican Summer League, with the chance to get a taste of the Gulf Coast League before the end of the season. The inherent risk and distant ETA make him someone to follow and not own in most formats, at least for the time being.
