Wade Meckler

Meckler suffered a wrist sprain in spring training that he couldn't fully shake until mid-July - there was a failed rehab assignment in June - and he never made it up to the big leagues after getting a brief cup of coffee in 2023. He only hit .232 with a 39.1 percent strikeout rate in 20 games in the majors, but Meckler is a career .328 hitter with a .420 on-base percentage and a 16 percent strikeout rate in the minors. He hadn't hit for much power prior to 2024, and his eight homers in 44 games at Triple-A last year doubled his career total. His .220 ISO was the first time he'd logged a mark over .150 since he was at High-A in 2023. The Pacific Coast League played a role in Meckler accessing notable pop for the first time, as his 26.8 percent hard-hit rate was still mediocre for a player his age (24), but if the lefty-hitting Meckler can be just a 15-homer hitter, he could potentially get on base enough to play regularly against right-handed pitching. Projection system Steamer projects Meckler for eight steals per 600 plate appearances, so the power/speed upside is faint.
