The Blue Jays acquired Pinango and infielder Josh Rivera from the Cubs on Saturday in exchange for right-hander Nate Pearson, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
ANALYSIS
Pinango got off to a hot start with High-A South Bend, but he has cooled down at the plate since being promoted to Double-A Tennessee in mid-May, slashing .226/.323/.352 with 21 RBI across 229 plate appearances with the Smokies. The 22-year-old outfielder will most likely report to Double-A New Hampshire upon joining the Blue Jays organization.
