76ers and Nets Set for Conference Battle
The Philadelphia 76ers take on the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center on Tuesday night.

The 76ers (35-25) continue to manage the absence of Joel Embiid in an attempt to remain in contention until the big man can return, and they've done a good job in that regard recently with consecutive victories. Their most recent success came Sunday afternoon, when they topped the Dallas Mavericks by a 120-116 score. Tobias Harris led the 76ers with 28 points, adding five rebounds, one assist and one steal. Tyrese Maxey delivered 24 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals. Kelly Oubre managed 21 points, five rebounds, four assists and one block. Paul Reed posted 13 points, seven rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block. Buddy Hield supplied 11 points, four assists, three rebounds, one steal and one block.

The 76ers will remain without Embiid (knee), Robert Covington (knee) and De'Anthony Melton (back) for Tuesday's game. Cameron Payne (illness) will be listed as questionable.

The Nets (24-37) went into a Monday night date with the Memphis Grizzlies riding a modest but optimistic two-game winning streak, but they saw that come to an end with a 106-102 loss. Nic Claxton paced the Nets with 21 points, complementing them with six rebounds, two assists and one block. Cameron Johnson totaled 18 points, five boards, three assists, two steals and one block. Mikal Bridges registered 14 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals. Dennis Schroder and Lonnie Walker produced matching 13-point, one-steal tallies, with Schroder also dishing out nine assists.

The Nets are likely to list Ben Simmons (leg/back) and Day'Ron Sharpe (wrist) as no better than questionable for Tuesday's game. Cam Thomas (ankle) is likely to remain out.

Tuesday's game marks the third of four meetings between the teams this season. The series is tied 1-1.
