2024 Fantasy Outlook
Sengun took a huge leap forward in Year 3, posting career highs in points (21.1), rebounds (9.3), assists (5.0), steals (1.2) and minutes (32.5) per game. The big man was efficient from the field (53.7 percent) but struggled from the line (69.3) and beyond the arc (29.7). Sengun's breakout season came to a halt and was ultimately ended by a severe right ankle sprain in mid-March, though he had a chance to return if Houston snuck into the playoffs. He should be fully healthy by training camp and retain a starting role in 2024-25, but he may not be the Rockets' offensive hub anymore. Jalen Green was fantastic in Sengun's absence at the end of 2023-24, No. 3 pick Reed Sheppard could carve out a large role as a rookie, and Houston is still expecting developmental jumps from Jabari Smith, Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore. With so many mouths to feed and a faster-paced attack expected, Sengun's production could take a hit, especially coming off an injury. However, Sengun, who's still only 22 years old, established himself as an All-Star caliber player last year and should get the benefit of the doubt in Year 4, making him a quality fantasy starter. Double-doubles in Game 7 loss
Sengun racked up 21 points (9-23 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 14 rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal over 40 minutes during Sunday's 103-89 loss to the Warriors in Game 7 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
ANALYSIS
Sengun recorded his fifth double-double of this first-round series Sunday. The All-Star center was one of only three players on the Rockets to score in double figures, as Amen Thompson (24) and Fred VanVleet (17) were the only others to make an impact in the scoring department. Sengun's season ends after an impressive playoff performance over seven games, as he averaged 20.8 points, 11.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.0 steals per game while shooting 46.3 percent from the field.

Despite continued frustration in terms of playing time, Sengun ended his sophomore season as the 83rd-ranked player in standard formats, compiling averages of 14.8 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.8 combined steals and blocks. He recorded two triple-doubles during the 2022-23 season, flashing his ability to play as a facilitator from the center position. While it is a small sample size, over the final two weeks of the season, Sengun averaged 15.8 points, 14.2 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.4 blocks. His ability to fill the box score is reminiscent of players such as Nikola Jokic and Domantas Sabonis, who are elite fantasy assets across all formats. We are far from putting Sengun in the same category as Jokic and Sabonis, but it makes for an intriguing comparison. With a new head coach, the hope is that Sengun's minutes will finally reflect his ability on the basketball court. He is by no means a positive defender, but to this point, he has demonstrated an ability to accumulate defensive numbers. A few questions remain regarding how he is viewed in Houston, given they were rumored to have been in the market for Brook Lopez. This uncertainty could make Sengun available at a slight discount come draft season. Snapping him up in the sixth round feels like a relatively risk-free move.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Likely staying put
Sengun is not expected to be included in trade talks for Kevin Durant, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
The same is true of Amen Thompson, although Scotto notes that Jalen Green could be attainable. Sengun and Thompson appear to be the cornerstones of Houston, and that's not a huge surprise with how successful both players were in 2024-25. Sengun produced averages of 19.1 points, 10.3 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.1 steals over 76 regular-season games.
