2025 Fantasy Outlook
With Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner and Jalen Suggs all missing extended time last season, da Silva saw an expanded role as a rookie. The No. 18 overall pick in 2024 started 38 of his 74 regular-season appearances. As a starter, da Silva averaged 9.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 28.2 minutes while posting 40/31/90 shooting splits. However, his production dropped off significantly when operating as a reserve, which is where he'll start the 2025-26 season. The Magic swapped Kentavious Caldwell-Pope for Desmond Bane this offseason and added Tyus Jones in free agency. Those additions shouldn't impact da Silva's role as the top forward behind Wagner and Banchero, but the addition of Bane does add another go-to playmaker whenever Orlando is shorthanded. Da Silva showed enough in Year 1 to be on fantasy managers' radars, but he doesn't need to be drafted in standard leagues and is multiple injuries away from seeing the expanded role he had at times in 2024-25. Nets 22 points with nine boards
Da Silva notched 22 points (8-14 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, one assist, one block and three turnovers across 32 minutes during Friday's 105-98 win over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Da Silva got the starting nod with Paolo Banchero (groin) unavailable and made the most of the opportunity, taking advantage of a favorable matchup with the defensively-challenged Nets. It's unclear if Banchero will be able to make it back for Sunday's game in Houston, but groin injuries can be tricky, so plucking up Da Silva from the waiver wire wouldn't be the worst idea.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Da Silva spent four years at Colorado and finished his senior year with averages of 16.0 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.9 triples, 1.1 steals and 1.8 turnovers per game on 49.3 percent shooting from the floor and 83.5 percent from the free throw line. The former Colorado standout lands into a decent situation, as the Magic have been able to develop young players in the past, but that doesn't mean da Silva will be trusted into a role in the rotation right away. With the Magic being a playoff contender in the Eastern Conference, Da Silva isn't expected to see steady minutes at either forward spot, and it wouldn't be surprising if he starts the season in the G League to get regular playing time as he continues to adjust to the NBA level. Based on this scenario, fantasy managers shouldn't consider drafting Da Silva in standard or deeper drafts. He might have some upside in dynasty formats, but even that's debatable considering the lack of minutes he'll probably have as a rookie.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Turns heads at EuroBasket
Quinn Everts of Orlando Magic Daily believes Da Silva's play at EuroBasket could have the franchise rethinking their rotation.
ANALYSIS
"Da Silva did stand out, giving fans a potential glimpse at what his role could be back in Orlando; a floor-spacing, do-it-all complementary connector on offense and a lockdown, versatile defender on the other end," Everts said. Da Silva averaged 10.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.0 three-pointers, 0.9 steals and 0.8 blocks in 19.2 minutes per game for Germany, with Everts noting that he has the potential to win the sixth man role in Orlando. The Magic are significantly deeper this season with the addition of Desmond Bane, and both Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero will have considerable workloads when healthy. So it's fair to wonder just how many minutes Da Silva can carve out in his second season.
