2024 Fantasy Outlook
The Thunder traded Micic to the Hornets last season, and the veteran point guard made a strong fantasy impact in Charlotte's injury-riddled backcourt. With LaMelo Ball sidelined by another ankle injury, it didn't take long for Micic to carve out a starting role with his new squad. After posting 13 points, seven assists and two steals in 28 minutes off the bench during a March 1 loss in Philadelphia, Micic moved into the starting lineup. From March 3 through April 7, Micic averaged 13.6 points, 6.9 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 0.9 steals in 32.2 minutes per game. While Micic was worth rostering in standard leagues during that month-plus stretch, the Serbian's fantasy value will be significantly less heading into the 2024-25 campaign. Ball is expected to be healthy, and the Hornets signed Josh Green this offseason to bolster their backcourt, leaving Micic to compete with Tre Mann and Nick Smith for backup duties. Given Ball's injury history, it's worth keeping an eye on Micic throughout the season, but the latter won't be fantasy-relevant as a backup on a non-contending team. Read Past Outlooks

Let go by Milwaukee
Micic was waived by the Bucks on Monday, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.

The 31-year-old was traded to the Bucks in exchange for Pat Connaughton and two second-round picks, though Milwaukee waived Micic and agreed to a contract buyout. He gave back $6.1 million, with the Bucks stretching the remaining $2 million on his contract over the next three seasons. The guard is now expected to explore other opportunities in both Europe and the NBA. Latest Fantasy Rumors

Not likely to return to Phoenix
Micic isn't expected to return to the Suns for the 2025-26 season, according to Gerald Bourguet of PHNX Sports.
ANALYSIS
The Suns control whether to keep Micic around or not. Still, considering the team's logjam in the backcourt, the Suns aren't likely to exercise Micic's $8.1 million team option. That would make the Serbian guard a free agent, allowing him to pursue opportunities elsewhere -- either in the NBA or overseas -- as a free agent.
