Zach Edey Injury: Traveling with team
Grizzlies head coach Tuomas Iisalo said Sunday that Edey (ankle) will travel with the team to Berlin for Thursday's game against the Magic, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
Edey is set to miss his 15th straight game Sunday against Nets as he recovers from a stress reaction in his left foot, which he sustained Dec. 11. At the time he suffered the injury, Edey was scheduled to be re-evaluated in four weeks, so the Grizzlies are likely to have an update regarding where he stands in his recovery within the next few days. The fact that he's traveling with the team could be a sign that he's close to playing again, but no definitive target date for Edey's return has been established. For however long Edey remains sidelined, Jock Landale will likely continue to handle a 20-plus-minute role as Memphis' starting center.
